ACE Weekly Update -- April 24th, 2018

What's Coming Up: Week of April 23rd-27th

REMINDERS:

  • College classes end on April 30th but Adult Education & certification classes continue until late May.

  • Good luck with finals! We want to help you finish strong!! Please talk with your coach about how to prepare for your final exams in the most effective and least stressful way possible!

  • ACE Orientation is scheduled for May 29th. Stay tuned for more details. Remember, all students who plan to participate in ACE in summer need to 1) have completed a Summer 2018 Next Semester Plan (see below) and 2) attend orientation.

Are you ready for next semester?

By now, you and your coach should have begun working on your Next Semester Plan, which helps you plan your next classes, register, and make sure your next semester is paid for. If your Next Semester Plan is not yet complete, please make sure to check with your coach about what steps remain. Reminder: All Next Semester Plans must be completed NO LATER THAN May 4th.

 

HiSET Graduation!

HiSET Graduation is on May 25th! Any Delgado Adult Education student who has passed his/her HiSET test by May is invited to walk in graduation and participate in the cap and gown ceremony. Please speak with your coach or contact our office directly (504-671-5434) to RSVP.

 

3 Cool Events: TOMORROW!

9-11AM by the Fitness Center (City Park campus)

To celebrate National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, the Medical Laboratory Technician students will host Wellness Wednesday on April 25 outside the Fitness Center on the City Park Campus, 9 – 11 am. Here's what they say:

"Medical Laboratory Technicians are vital members of the healthcare team who perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, and other body fluids. 70% of medical decisions are based off of the results that MLT's provide for physicians. Ever wondered what your lab tests mean? Stop by on Wednesday and let the MLT students help you make sense of it!"

3PM at 3401 Canal Street

New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau is hosting its April Job Fest of the year. Here's what they say: "Join us on Wednesday, April 25th, from noon until 3 p.m. for our April Job Fest at First Grace Methodist Church (3401 Canal Street). We have top employers in the city’s largest industry ready to hire great, enthusiastic people like you!" Find more details here.
