ACE Weekly Update -- December 8th, 2017

What's Coming Up:

Dec. 11th-15th

Reminders:

  • Post-Testing for in-person classes is Dec. 11th & 12th! If you have maintained your enrollment in at least one adult education class, you MUST post-test. If you've been dropped from all classes, check with a coach, teacher, or the office to see if you need to re-test anyway, as you're required to have a new test every 6 months even if you haven't been in classes. If you don't have current scores on file, you will not be able to register for the next session of classes.

  • ACE Orientation will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 13th. You can attend the morning orientation (9AM-1PM) or the evening one (5:30-9:30PM) but you MUST attend in if you plan to participate in ACE in Spring 2018.

  • If you are participating in ACE in Spring 2018, you do NOT need to attend the usual Adult Education Scheduling. You will make a schedule with a coach at orientation instead.

  • Delgado will be closed from December 16th to January 2nd. The campuses will reopen on Weds. January 3rd.

  • The new session of adult education classes begins on January 15th. Remember that attendance in the first week is mandatory.

  • College classes for Spring 2018 begin on January 16th (unless you're in Saturday classes, which start on January 13th).

New Student Registration is Open

We are currently registering new students for the next session of classes, which begins on January 15th. If you know someone who has never registered before and would like to start classes, they can register online at www.dccaep.org or they can come to in-person registration on Friday, Dec. 15th between 8AM & 12 noon. Students who have registered before and want to return after time off can call our office at 504-671-5434 to inquire about next steps.

Have you secured your financial aid for 2018-2019? Now's the time!

The 2018-2019 FAFSA is ready. The sooner you submit your FAFSA, the more aid you're eligible to receive. Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov to complete you new FAFSA.

Remember: There will be a question that says something like, “At the time you begin school, which of the following will you have? High school diploma / High school equivalency / Home school diploma / None of the above” You MUST select “None of the above” if you do not already have your high school equivalency or diploma.

What would you like to see on our website?

We're currently adding new sections to the Student Support website (www.dccaep.wixsite.com/support). We'd like you to tell us what you think we should include! Email us at aceprogram@dcc.edu to let us know.
