ACE Weekly Update -- June 15th, 2017
What's Coming Up:
June 19th-23rd

The Lowdown on Exit Exams
One special feature of the ACE program is the opportunity to study for and attempt exit exams in order to bypass developmental/remedial classes. You can read more about exit exams here.
If you're enrolled in or have successfully completed one or more of the eligible classes, you're invited sign up for the pre-test, which we'll offer during the 4th week of each adult education session. We'll email eligible students next week. You'll be able to sign up online through a link we'll send out by text message and post in the Weekly Update. Following the pre-test, you'll schedule an appointment with Josh to review your results and, if you qualify, sign up for your official test.
We highly encourage anyone who is planning to re-take an exit exam to meet with Josh to review his/her past test(s). To set up an appointment, please visit our Booking page
click on "ACE Support Services," and select "ACE Exit Exam Review," then choose an appointment time. Please indicate in your reservation which test or tests you'd like to review (eg. Reading exam taken in May 2017).

Teach Me How to Study
(Teach me teach me how to study!)
Having a few trusty, effective study strategies is essential for academic success, especially in college. Without a great strategy, you'll usually feel nervous, and you might not get the grades you want.
You're probably thinking, "Of course I know how to study!" But how many different ways do you know? How do you know if the way you're studying is the best fit for your learning style, your personal strengths, or the kind of class you're taking? Does your study strategy help you figure out if you're ready for your test?
Take a look at this section of the Student Support Site (a site made FOR YOU by ACE staff) to learn more about how to choose a great study strategy and to find some great study tools. We also encourage you to explore the site further to see what else it has to offer.
Hurricane season is here. Did you know that Delgado will send you text messages and/or emails to alert you if the campus closes for an emergency or unplanned circumstance? You just need to sign up! Follow this link to sign up for Delgado Alert: http://www.dcc.edu/student-services/e2campus/
