If you don't already know how to use them, please check out the tutorials here and do the Canvas Orientation here. Two Great Tools for Getting Organized (Digitally)
As an adult student, you manage school alongside all your other commitments (work, family, etc). You probably have a lot on your plate. As coaches, we want to help you find tools that will make it easier to manage your time and keep track of important messages. Here are two tools that might be helpful. Both can be accessed online and through apps. We encourage you to check them out, watch videos, and let your coach know if you'd like a tutorial.
Google Calendar (or any other digital calendar) can be helpful for keeping all your time commitments recorded in one place, which can in turn help you schedule appointments, plan out your study time, and visualize your day. You can also access these calendars from a smartphone, so that you can check and update them anytime. This tutorial provides an introduction, while this video explains how digital calendars can help you maximize your college success.
To use Google Calendar, you'll need a Google or Gmail account. If you don't have one, you can make one easily here, or you can use the calendar apps on your phone or computer.
Google Inbox is an alternative sort of email account that helps you organize your email, set reminders, pin important messages, and snooze things that can wait. If you have a Google or Gmail account already, you already have access to Inbox. If not, setting up an account is quick and easy at https://inbox.google.com
Hurricane season is here. Did you know that Delgado will send you text messages and/or emails to alert you if the campus closes for an emergency or unplanned circumstance? You just need to sign up! Follow this link to sign up for Delgado Alert: http://www.dcc.edu/student-services/e2campus/
