ACE Weekly Update -- April 24th, 2017
What's Happening This Week: April 24th-28th
Exit exams will be offered next Monday & Tuesday (5/1 & 5/2) to qualifying students. See below for more information.
Final exams (for college students) and certification exams (for certification students) are right around the corner! Talk with your coach about your plan of attack to finish out the semester strong.
It's time to start planning your next semester classes. Get with your coach to choose classes and sign up. (Reminder: ACE students should not sign up independently unless specifically instructed by their coach.)
The Lowdown on Exit Exams
One special feature of the ACE program is the opportunity to study for and attempt exit exams in order to bypass developmental/remedial classes.
If you've been recommended previously and you've maintain enrollment in your adult education classes this session, you'll be eligible to retake any exams you were previously recommended for. We highly encourage anyone who is planning to re-take an exit exam to meet with Josh this week to review his/her past test(s). To set up an appointment, please visit our Booking page
click on "ACE Support Services," and select "ACE Exit Exam Review," then choose an appointment time. Please indicate in your reservation which test or tests you'd like to review (eg. Reading exam taken in March 2017).
If you've never taken exit exams or to find out if you'll be eligible for any new exit exams, check out our Exit Exam Guide here to find out what classes make you eligible for instructor recommendation. We will contact you by email or phone later this week to find out what tests you want to sign up for.
Scholarship Opportunity: Apply by May 1st
Check out this exciting scholarship opportunity for students with a GPA of 2.0 or higher! This scholarship is funded by donations from staff of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System. Applications, with two recommendation forms, are due by May 1st.
Register now for HiSET Graduation!
Did you know that we do a cap-and-gown graduation ceremony each June for all the students who've passed their HiSET during this school year? There's still time to get on the graduation list! Anyone who passes all sections of the HiSET by the end of May is eligible to walk in graduation. Talk to your coach about making a plan!
